Russian artists Vladimir Fomin and Joulia Vitaliy have exhibits at Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park. Fomin's U.S. debut show includes 'Autumn' done in his bright folk art style. Story, Page J14

The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens is featuring the works of two Russian artists. "Amazing Lubok" showcases works by painter Vladimir Fomin. The artist's American debut features 22 oil paintings through Feb. 26.

Fomin's works are painted in a style called avant-garde lubok. The term lubok is defined as traditional Russian folk art, a style characterized by bright colors and simple compositions. Fomin's works combine lubok with other styles.

Also on display through Feb. 26 is "Infinite Illusions," works by Joulia Vitaliy, who lives in Winter Park. The exhibit features carved frescoes, stucco pieces, a postexpressionist painting, a classically inspired vase and two imaginative dresses.

The museum, at 633 Osceola Ave. in Winter Park, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. In conjunction with United Arts of Central Florida's Arts-Fest, admission will be free today.

Artists will be working in the museum's gardens, free children's activities will be continual, and children's stories will be told intermittently.
